My Approach

First of all, I believe regardless of the model of therapy you choose, the relationship between the therapist and client is central to the therapeutic process.

I was originally trained in the Person-Centred approach to therapy, which is a humanistic approach that holds the client as the expert of their experience. This approach is non-directive. The role of the therapist is to provide the right conditions to assist the client to explore and understand themselves/their experiences, enabling them to see their full potential and accept their true self. To understand more about the Person-Centred approach, please visit the BACP website.

Along with the Person-Centred approach, I also have training and experience in a variety of other approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Existentialism and Transactional Analysis. Certainly, one approach does not suit everyone and with this, I can tailor my approach to support each individual’s needs, to enable them to become more self-reflective and emotionally restored and rebalanced.
